History and the Present Crisis

“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” (Eccl 1:9)

The COVID 19 pandemic has caused fear to take hold of the world. How will it all end? Will we ever be able to go back to a “normal” life? Will the Economy crash as many suspect? Can we learn the answers from history?

I am convinced that the whole Bible was written for this generation. It is a well-known fact that History repeats itself. Everything that happened in history has an end-time application or can teach us something concerning the crisis that is here. A perfect representation of the final crisis Is the story of the famine in Egypt in the days of Joseph.

In the days of Joseph, God warned the world of a coming crisis by giving Pharaoh a dream. In the same way, God has warned us of a time of trouble that this world will go through before the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has warned us specifically through dreams and visions revealed in the prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation.

“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” (Daniel 12:1) (See also Matt 24:21)

However, just like none of the wise men of Egypt could understand and interpret the dream, so the wise men of today are ignorant of the prophecies given us in Daniel and the Revelation.

Notice what else happened in the days of Joseph:

“And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine. And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house. And when MONEY FAILED in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the MONEY FAILETH.” (Gen 47:13-15)

During the famine, there was what we call an economic crash. The result was that the common people cried to the government for help and support. As a result, the people ended up selling their houses and lands to the government. The government ended up owning everything. In the following year the people ended up selling their own bodies for food. Notice how the common people reacted to the crisis:

“Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? BUY US and our land for bread, and we and our land WILL BE SERVANTS unto Pharaoh:” (Gen 47:19)

In this way, the Government or the rich people became richer, while the common people became poorer to the point of being servants to the government. This is exactly what we are told will happen at the end of time. As a result, the poor will begin to hate the rich, and the few rich people will oppress the poor. This is ultimately where everything is heading according to Bible prophecy. God alone will bring vengeance to the rich. The Bible describes it in this manner:

“Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back BY FRAUD, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.” (James 5:1-5)

While being oppressed, we are not to resist, but rather commit ourselves to the LORD as a faithful God who will deliver us in his time.

In the days of Joseph, It was through the famine that they set up a “One World Government.” As a result, the people were moved to the cities. Notice verse 21 of Genesis 47;

“And as for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of the borders of Egypt even to the other end thereof.” (Gen 47:21)

The people were moved to the cities for mass control.

Had it not been for the wise counsel of Joseph the Egyptians would have remained servants to Pharaoh forever.

This is a picture of where this world is heading with the present crisis. Through the present Crisis, the agenda to implement the “One World Government,” is fast-moving forward. Not only this but just recently an article was released saying that because of the present crisis, the world might experience a famine or a shortage of food.

Friends, the story of Joseph is repeating before our eyes. We need a Joseph today to deliver us. The good news is we do have a Joseph to deliver us. This time it will end up in the Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He will truly come and deliver his children.

In Revelation 13, we see that the governments of this world will come to a place where everyone who does not follow there agenda will be sentenced to death.

“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” (Revelation 13:15)

In context, this verse is referring to the second beast in Revelation 13.

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” (Revelation 13:11)

A beast in Bible prophecy represents a nation or a kingdom. (Daniel 7:17,23) This beast coming out of the earth having two horns like a lamb is none other than the United States of America when studied in context. The USA started as a Christian nation. It was founded on Christian principles. The pilgrims who fled from Europe to America fled from religious persecution. They came to establish a country that offered both civil and religious liberty. Hence the beast is described as having two horns like a lamb. The Lamb in the Bible is a representation of Jesus Christ. America was founded upon the constitution which is what gives us the freedom to worship God according to the dictates of our conscience. However, the verse says that this beast ends up speaking like a dragon. The dragon ultimately represents Satan;

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:9)

In other words, America will repudiate every principle of the Constitution and will end up pushing the agenda of Satan himself. As a result, religious persecution against the faithful people of God will once again be kindled. The history of the dark ages will be repeated. America is setting up an image of what happened in the dark ages. The image of the beast is forming right now.  Through the present crisis the “One World Government,” is fast advancing. The Bible reveals that America will cause everyone to receive a mark on their forehead or on their right hand. What does this symbolize, and what is this mark, is the question. Brothers and sisters, prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes. Are we blind to that fact? Or are we awake and taking heed to the words of Jesus:

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” (Luke 21:36)

May we turn our eyes upon Jesus, and the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace.

As they behold the events taking place in the world, many people are filled with fear. However, we need to see these events simply as an unfolding of Bible Prophecy. We have had the warning of what is happening in the world before us for years. Jesus said:

“And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.” (John 14:29)

Instead of causing fear, seeing what is happening in the world should only strengthen our faith. Yes, it is fearful what is going to happen in this world, but we need to keep our eyes upon Jesus and be looking for his appearing. (Heb 9:28) “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim 1:7) We need to be involved in sounding the cry, “Behold the Bridegroom cometh, go ye out to meet him.” (Matt 25:6) We need to remember that “greater is he that is in us, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

Dear reader, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? Have you been born again? Have you received a new life from above? If not, invite him into your heart today. In him alone you will find peace in the midst of all this trouble. May we all be ready to meet Jesus in peace.

Are you ready to meet your Lord face to face? Let us examine ourselves, and be sure that we are found in Christ in the Great and dreadful day of the Lord. That is our only place of safety.
